J. Safra Sarasin Investment Foundation (SAST) – Investment Group Sustainable Global High Yield
This investment group invests directly and/or indirectly via collective investments in high-yield bonds that are issued or guaranteed by government, private or public-private borrowers across the world. It belongs to the category of claims under Art. 53 (1) (b) of the Swiss Ordinance on Occupational Retirement, Survivors' and Disability Pension Plans (BVV2). The investment group exhibits higher credit default risks compared to other investments.
In a departure from the general investment guidelines of the J. Safra Sarasin Investment Foundation, the investment group can invest up to 100% in non-investment grade bonds. "Non-investment grade" means a credit rating that is lower than BBB- (Standard & Poor‘s), Baa3 (Moody‘s) or an equivalent rating. A lower credit rating generally indicates a higher probability of default. The higher risk allows you to benefit from high current returns and a very attractive historical risk-adjusted return despite the low-interest environment. Investing in a global portfolio offers opportunities to benefit from regional differences in credit cycles.
This subfund has been created for investors who are seeking asset growth on a long-term investment horizon. It is suitable as a supplement to other traditional investments. Only occupational pension schemes that are domiciled in Switzerland and are exempt from tax are permitted.
